Text description provided by the architects. The site is in a city block between a highway and a shopping street and resembles a sandbank. In Syugoin, adjustment of the public-private relationship was attempted in two different dimensions: (1) a dynamic approach to activate the public and private by new boundaries, and (2) a static approach to being public.
