Text description provided by the architects. The Dragonfly DMC Tower focuses on “light”: admitting “light,” blocking “light,” scattering “light,” and adopting “light.” The building is fabricated with a soft inner skin and rigid outer skin as the client requested computational task environment for office. With maximizing the use of site, the center of building remains empty to allow light. This strategy is new experiment in office building design. As the core of office building locates on the edge of each floor instead of center of building, the central void encourages air circulation and admits daylight into a building. The surrounding core allows two layers of external insulation system and double-outer skin controls daylight; it manages direct sunlight and daylight of the central void penetrates into interior office areas.
