Text description provided by the architects. Bang Brewing Company was opened in 2013 by a husband and wife team who established the first 100% organic brewery in the Midwest. The owners wanted the building and the process to reflect the qualities of their product. Self-financed loans required very tight cost control throughout design and development.

Selecting a purpose-built grain bin saved on build costs, and provided a high volume to exterior surface area ratio for energy and material conservation. With a palette of silver and salvaged wood, the brewery features a custom made insulated glass skylight, spray urethane insulation (R-28), in-floor heat beneath the high-strength, polished concrete floors.
