Text description provided by the architects. Donji Milanovac is a small comunity (a small town +a few villages ap. 3500 inhabitants) in a passive area of Serbia. In the past few years it is trying to take advantage of its postion on the bank of the river Danube and develope tourisam.

Green market is located in the center of the town, near the river, a nice location, but it was devasted ugly place, avoided both by salesmen and visitors, goods used to be sold from the cars outside.

LOW BUDGET INVESTMENT: The shape of the market is irregulare, it takes app 600 m2. The frame of the market are old buildings which had to be kept. Some of the surrounding buildings were just fixed and painted, others, in the worse state, are hiden behind wooden grid.
