Text description provided by the architects. Petrópolis is a mountain city nestled in valleys, surrounded by stretches of the Atlantic Forest, and characterized by a cold, humid climate. The plot, with a 52-foot (16-meter) frontage and a depth of over 1,300 feet (400 meters), features a steep slope. On the lower part of the lot, next to the street, there is no sunlight due to the impenetrable shadow cast by the trees of a large neighboring lot to the east.
