Text description provided by the architects. Out of the commonplace emerges the power of the AV+2F Houses. Guided by symmetry, repetition, and rhythm, they feature simple structures and construction techniques (providing budget reliability and an uncomplicated building process). At the same time, this very premise allowed the project to subvert the conventional residential facade. Passersby are met with the strangeness of unusually closed fronts, contrasting with the typical image of a house with clearly defined windows and doors. Yet, those who ring the bell and step inside for a coffee gradually discover the space's multiple pathways and openings, as well as its strong dialogue with the backyard garden.
