The Best Graduation Projects of 2021

Every year, we host a call for submissions for final graduation projects from our audience, open to all Portuguese-speaking countries. In doing so, we aim to select the projects we find most compelling, presenting inspiring visions and sparking debates in the fields of architecture and urbanism.

The selection of these projects is based on what we consider to be the most well-developed, graphically compelling, and conceptually intriguing proposals—regardless of the chosen approach, scale, or program. Beyond simply delivering a satisfactory design, we believe that a final graduation project (TCC/TFG), by condensing the student's efforts during their transition from academia to professional practice (while still remaining an academic endeavor), should raise questions and provoke discussion around its proposed theme.

In this edition, we received a total of 230 submissions, distributed as follows:

  • 63.6% from the Brazilian Southeast region;
  • 17.9% from the Brazilian South region;
  • 7.7% from the Brazilian Central-West region;
  • 7.5% from the Brazilian Northeast region;
  • 1.8% from the Brazilian North region;
  • 1.4% from Portugal and other countries.
