On Friday, September 25, the first Digital Event organized by ArchDaily took place, sponsored by Crest and Panel Rey for the Mérida-based architectural community. During the event, David Basulto (founder of ArchDaily) and Vanessa Vielma (Director of ArchDaily Mexico) gave a talk on the platform's history and shared relevant data specific to this context.
Additionally, a reflective exercise was held to explore the pandemic experiences of the invited firms. The activity consisted of building a memorial using kits provided by Canvas, focusing on the use of simple materials and the idea of returning to basics. Drawing from the experience of being at home with only the essentials, participants created a memorial of what the world is currently experiencing. The project incorporated eight concepts: body, contingency, city, public space, history, experience, habitability, and emotions. Read on to discover the models and reflections from the various firms.
