Wood parquet floors, or simply parquet, are made from assemblies of solid wood rectangular blocks, which can be installed in graphic patterns such as diagonal, herringbone, and checkerboard, among others. These diverse designs, combined with the varying textures and colors of the blocks, open up countless compositional arrangements through the application and repetition of identical units.
Like other flooring made from solid wood, parquet offers advantages such as thermal and acoustic insulation and durability (with proper maintenance), as well as being sourced from a renewable raw material.
