Designing a home is always a challenge we love: thinking about the program of requirements, the flows, how the different sectors connect, and the geometry of the spaces, while interpreting the soul of each resident who will inhabit the space. Casa Melhado is located in a gated community in the city of Estância Velha, in the Vale dos Sinos region. Its layout on a 16x25-meter lot was guided by legal regulations and the program of requirements, which called for two courtyards so that the house could open up to its interior. The design fosters a dialogue between outdoor and indoor spaces, creating a feeling of being outside while being inside—a solution made particularly feasible by its location within a gated community.
