Text description provided by the architects. When discussing design, we always talk about impact and consequently about people, which is why the best designs are empathetic. The Casa del Niño Indígena (Indigenous Children's Home) is a facility that serves as a shelter for Indigenous boys and girls, located in Vícam, one of the eight Yaqui towns in the heart of the Sonoran Desert. The situation is challenging; some travel dozens of miles to study and be cared for here, with practically all of them coming from neighboring towns.
