As part of Volume 37 of Site Magazine and in conjunction with the 2017 celebration of Canada’s sesquicentennial, the editors invite submissions to a juried competition that projects the theme of 'Future Legacy' into Canada’s next 150 years. We are looking for design responses that take a position on the future history of a national project and offer perspectives on the role of legacy as a driving force in the creation of the nation.. What parts of the past drive us into the future? What scales of time influence our view of the passage of history? What do we pick up and what do we leave behind?

Vyksa-10000 invites international artists to take a part in a contest for the largest mural in the world.

The Vyksa-10000 international contest is organized by the Art-Ovrag festival in Vyksa, Russia. The mural painting contest celebrates the 25th anniversary of the United Metallurgical Company (OMK) and the 260th anniversary of the metallurgical plant in Vyksa.

Amsterdam Light Festival is an annual light art festival in the Netherlands that presents the rapidly developing concept of light art in all its forms. After five successful editions, the festival will return to Amsterdam’s city center for the 2017-2018 edition. From artists to designers, engineers to architects, and professionals to students, the festival invites creators from around the world to submit their creative interpretations of the theme EXISTENTIAL. The deadline for submissions round 1 (curatorial selection) is 31 January 2017, 11:00 CET.

The Coverings Installation and Design (CID) Awards celebrate outstanding achievements in the design and installation of tile and stone in both residential and commercial projects. Architects, designers, installers, and contractors are invited to submit residential or commercial projects completed within the past two years (January 2015 – December 2016).

Prize-winning project teams, including each installer and designer, will receive $2,500 and a one-night stay in Orlando. Multiple entries are encouraged and there is no fee to enter.
