Michael Ford’s Hip Hop Architecture Scholarship is excited to announce a new scholarship opportunity for minority students interested in studying architecture in college. The $10,000.00 scholarship is open to high school seniors who demonstrate a passion for architecture and a strong academic record.
As the holiday season approaches, so do college application deadlines. SCI-Arc’s priority deadline is January 15, 2023, at 11:59pm. All applicants that submit by the priority deadline will have their application reviewed for merit-based scholarship consideration.
The Geometric Computing Laboratory (GCM) at EPFL is looking for an Artist/Designer in Residence to explore new applications of our most recent research results. Research conducted at GCM explores the interface of geometry, computation, and making. We aim to translate our research findings into applications through design studies and artworks. The goal of the residency is to explore new ways in which to apply our research results for creative expression. Specifically, we aim to collaboratively create an art piece or design prototype that will be exhibited and publicized in appropriate venues. The residency at GCM can last for up to three months starting in March 2023 at the earliest.

The accepted applicants will receive an NSF fellowship from the Centers of Research Excellence in Science and Technology (CREST). This Program supports interdisciplinary research at the intersection of technology and built and natural environments. With a focus on sustainability, resilience, and mitigation, the supported technology- driven research areas include robotics fabrication, big-data analytics, spatial computing, artificial intelligence, media design, game design, and interactive learning environments.
