"Drinking Caracu is drinking health." This is what read on the massive blank wall of a building in downtown São Paulo on the morning of May 1, 2018. Jozé Candido is an architect and urban planner from Rio de Janeiro with extensive experience in the public sector, particularly in transportation. His design for the BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) stations in Rio de Janeiro was recognized as a "Gold Standard BRT" in 2013 by the ITDP. The BRT is a public transit system that crosses the city in the center-west direction and was implemented in Rio de Janeiro between 2012 and 2024.

The history of the Mexico City Metro dates back to the 1960s, a time when the Historic Center buckled under traffic congestion, overcrowded buses, and inefficient streetcars that were overwhelmed by the growing population of the then-Federal District.
