Women* in Architecture Belgium seeks new and alternative ways of expressing the progresses of architecture, underlining the role of the women working to its evolution. Besides highlighting their architectural work, WIAB aims to showcase the leadership skills female architects have, giving them the space to become role models for the future generations and increase the proportion of women in leadership roles within architecture. Women* in Architecture Belgium warmly invites researchers, writers, critics, professionals and scholars in architecture, interior design, landscape design and urban planning to submit an original abstract for consideration at our upcoming ‘Think Tank 2023’ - Women in Architecture Belgium Event. COMPETITION FORMAT: Warming Huts + Art Installation Three teams will be selected as winners of the WARMING HUTS COMPETITION: Arts + Architecture Competition on Ice from submissions of designs for a warming hut or art installation. Winning entries will be placed along the Nestaweya River Trail located on the Assiniboine and Red rivers in Winnipeg, Manitoba. A jury will select the winning designs based on their creativity in use of materials, providing shelter, poetics of assembly and form, integration with the landscape, and ease of construction.

The LA+ EXOTIQUE design ideas competition asks entrants to design the forecourt of the Museum of Natural History in Paris. The museum was founded in 1793 during the French Revolution, though the site had been used as a royal garden of medicinal plants since 1635. The site is located on the left bank of the River Seine and sits within the Jardins des Plantes, which are 28-hectare grounds that include exterior gardens and a zoo (Ménagerie), with five galleries in the museum precinct: Gallery of Evolution, Gallery of Mineralogy and Geology, Gallery of Botany, Gallery of Paleontology and Comparative Anatomy, and Large Greenhouses (Grandes Serres). All of these could be considered inspiration for your design. The Museum is not just a collection of fossils, it is an active research institution studying the evolution of life on this planet, and its occupants, both human and nonhuman.
