RTNHB project in south Egypt; RTNHB will provide an entertainment and social space among Nubian people, their visitors, and guests. Funded by ECO Group, the site will be an attractive Nubian area, a spot of social interaction, cultural dialogue, and place for entertainment in front of Philae Temple.

The Forks Renewal Corporation has launched an ideas competition for the redevelopment of Israel Asper Way from a four-lane roadway into a unique public space. The project will be known as Railside Promenade, a key component for the Railside at The Forks plan. Railside is planned to become a vibrant mixed-use residential development located at The Forks in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Experience the legendary Bauhaus movement on the brink of its 100th anniversary on this ten-day tour with Architectural Adventures. The Bauhaus is arguably the world's most influential school of design, revolutionizing 20th-century design, art, and architecture the world over. Founded in Weimar, Germany by Walter Gropius in 1919, the Bauhaus' activities spanned 14 years, and was relocated to Dessau and later Berlin.

In the 1920’s the Masters’ Houses in Dessau became the epitome of an artist community of the twentieth century. This is where Walter Gropius, Oskar Schlemmer, Georg Muche, László Moholy-Nagy, Lyonel Feininger, Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee and their families lived next door to each other. Here they were joined by their friends and visitors. Artist collectives, artist couples and artist friendships developed here, with everyone working together in the open structure of the model homes located in a park. However, when the Bauhauslers left in 1933 the area became deserted and the work created as a result of the artistic effort was abandoned.

In collaboration with the Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA), Het Nieuwe Instituut presents The Other Architect, an exhibition of architects who expanded their role in society to shape the contemporary cultural agenda without the intervention of built form. It showcases architecture’s potential to identify the urgent issues of our time, featuring 22 case studies, dating from the 1960s to the present day, that illustrate how international and often multidisciplinary groups invented and adopted new methods outside of traditional design practices. The Other Architect is a touring exhibition organized by the CCA and will be on view in Rotterdam from 8 September 2017 until 7 January 2018.

Entries are now open for the Morrison's Island International Design Competition, Cork, Ireland

Registered architects, landscape architects and engineers are invited to take part in a design competition to propose innovative and considered solutions for the renewal of Cork city’s quayside landscape. Participants are encouraged to collaborate with other professional disciplines, historians, craftspeople and artists. The competition aims to explore the authentic spatial and material quality of the city that has been lost in recent times and engage with the remaining historic fabric.

The Ville de Montréal (city of Montreal) wishes to source the most innovative and creative ideas for the permanent construction of Place des Montréalaises, a new public space adjacent to Champ-de-Mars métro station, including a pedestrian overpass.

Make, the Sir John Soane’s Museum and the World Architecture Festival (WAF) have come together to create a prize for architectural drawing. The Prize recognises the continuing importance of hand drawing but also embraces creative use of digitally produced renderings.

In some parts of the world's modestly priced retirement communities have been built by local people who have formed a group, commissioned an architect to design what they want and then hired a contractor to construct the homes for them. The properties are tailored to each resident’s requirements and the communities encourage interaction, healthier lifestyles and the mutual support of each other, thereby reducing the need for social care.

This one-stage anonymous design contest seeks concept designs for the new €30m Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis Concert Centre in Kaunas, Lithuania.

The Concert Centre will comprise of a 1,500-seat Concert Hall of exceptional acoustic quality; a smaller, secondary hall; conferencing facilities; a restaurant, café and bar; back-of-house and office spaces; and underground parking. The new building will sit within a public park and act as a catalyst for the regeneration of a central area, close to Kaunas’ historic Old Town.
