STUDIO FIRST is an online five-week summer studio in architectural design for students from a wide range of backgrounds who are considering graduate studies in architecture, urban design, or landscape architecture.

With the »District of the Generations«, the city of Schorndorf, a medium-sized center with about 40,000 inhabitants in the Rems-Murr district, is planning an urban development extension of the »suburb« to the north of the train station. The goal is to develop a dense neighbourhood where multiple generations can come together to live, work, and care for one another. The core of the plan is the 1.5 hectare site of the former construction and municipal depot. Proximity to the city, good quality of life, and a strong sense of community should be created in the new district through common living spaces, as well as through the combination of public areas and diverse options for local infrastructure, education, leisure, and culture. The project managers are intentionally focusing on resource-saving, low-emission energy and material concepts. The area should be designed to have low vehicle traffic, with a focus on public local transportation and spaces for sharing services and deliveries.

December 16 2021, Super Typhoon Rai, locally known as Typhoon Odette, made landfall in the Philippines. The storm was unexpectedly powerful, undergoing what is called “rapid intensification” the day before making landfall, which is becoming characteristic of tropical storms occurring in our warming climate. What is Taller del Río?

It is a summer workshop organized by the Escuela Superior de Arquitectura Avanzada [ESAA] and the architecture firm [Ciudad Portátil] in Neiva, Colombia. The workshop aims to rethink new interactions within public space through experimental practices and the participatory construction of an ephemeral or semi-permanent installation that engages with its surroundings and reflects on being, belonging, and inhabiting the city of the Magdalena River.

LOOP Design Awards 2022 is now open for entries. The third edition introduces the Best Firm Awards, Special Themed Categories and Architectural Video and has a total of 110 categories.
