Bringing together approximately 160 works by renowned Black artists from Brazil and the United States, the exhibition "Ancestral: Afro-Americas" arrives at the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil Rio de Janeiro on June 4, 2025. Under the artistic direction of Marcello Dantas and curated by Ana Beatriz Almeida, the exhibition celebrates the shared heritage and bonds between Afro-descendant peoples in Brazil and the United States within the field of visual arts, promoting a critical reflection on the African diaspora. The show also features a collection of adornments commonly known as "joias de crioula"—attire worn by Black women who achieved freedom in colonial Brazil, particularly in Bahia, as a way to express their ancestry—and a selection of African art from the Ivani and Jorge Yunes Collection, curated by Renato Araújo da Silva. These segments seek to identify, on one hand, the spaces where African ancestry was present during colonial Brazil and, on the other, its elements in art produced in its territory of origin.

The 2026 UIA World Congress of Architects (UIA2026BCN) has launched the International Emerging Workshop, a specially designed program that invites students and young professionals to engage in experimental studios led by twelve emerging architecture firms. Scheduled for June 19–27, 2025—one week prior to the congress—the program serves as a prelude, offering dynamic workshops, public lectures, inspiring dialogues with mentors, and city tours. 180 participants from around the world will collaborate across twelve workshops, fostering cross-cultural and interdisciplinary exchange. Using fog as a metaphor, this lecture explores the increasingly immaterial and diffuse nature of our world—manifest in the translucent facades of our cities, immersive artworks, the digital clouds storing our data, the smoke from wildfires, invisible surveillance mechanisms, and the opaque operations of financial capital. The event also marks the launch of a curated course track by Guilherme Wisnik, featuring four programs focused on architecture and art. The Félix Candela Award is a two-stage international architectural ideas competition conducted in Spanish. Organized annually by the Spanish Institute of Architecture (IESARQ), it is open to students of architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, and design, as well as young architects, landscape architects, urban planners, and designers, participating individually or in teams of two to three members.
ARCHLAND, a firm specializing in the organization of architecture competitions, is honored to present its most significant competition to date. This initiative will enable the Choquequirao Citadel to achieve World Heritage status and be recognized as Peru's second archaeological wonder, following Machu Picchu, within the tourism circuit. This circuit will be part of the proposal and included through the competition itself, promoted to reach over 5,000 architects worldwide to address and promote this remarkable site.

This course presents an overview of the works of Luis Barragán (1902–1988), including the historical, cultural, and political contexts in which they were designed and built. Each session will address a specific phase recognized by Mexican historiography, while drawing parallels with the work of Le Corbusier and other artists such as Mathias Goeritz and Jesús "Chucho" Reyes.
On Monday, May 25, the VII Arica Barroca South Andean Art Festival begins—an initiative established in 2014 to highlight the cultural identity and diversity of Arica, Parinacota, and the South American Andes. For 2020, Arica Barroca presents the theme "Sayarikuna"—Quechua for "We will rise"—to prompt questions regarding exemplary manifestations across the American continent. It invites reflection on returning to one's origins, the principles of "good living" (buen vivir) from the Andean worldview, and the practice of collectivity, reciprocity, access to information, learning, and Ayni.

The proposals that make up the exhibition Ciudad Completa | La Palomera: reconocimiento y celebración (Hacienda La Trinidad Parque Cultural) are the result of a multiplicity of individual and collective exercises, deployed as creative actions—experiences conceived to transcend the boundaries that make it difficult to imagine and experience the city as a diverse and complex fabric, open to the forces of the other, always yet to come; and of the other, the inhabitant who, together with us, inhabits and shapes it. A city for encounter, active consensus, learning, and transformation.
