Utah-based community project Summit has announced Mountain Architecture Prototype (MAP), an SPM Design Competition, "to select the design of a cabin prototype in an effort to push forward the conversation around what it means to build responsibly at 8,400 feet in the Wasatch [Mountain] Range.”
The competition seeks submissions for a structure of up to 2,500 square feet, which will be located on a 12 degree sloped site at SummitPowder Mountain. Sustainable designs are highly encouraged, particularly with the use of natural materials.

Open to any student of architecture or architect who has graduated within three years prior to their submission, the ISARCH Awards are international awards providing a platform for debate surrounding student solutions to architecture’s problems. The competition highlights avant-garde trends and recognizes new research emerging from university studies. By extending the traditional relationship of student to university, young people are encouraged to join the debate on architecture, contributing fresh new visions and opinions.
La Biennale di Venezia has launched a call for proposals for the Collateral Events of 2016. Searching for original exhibitions, installations and/or symposiums that will run alongside the 15th International Architecture Exhibition, the call is restricted to non-profit public or private institutions. All proposals must be "meaningful in relation" to the Exhibition's theme. Selection will be contingent on the approval of Artistic Director Alejandro Aravena and the Board of the Biennale. The nation’s largest film festival celebrating architecture and design will return to NYC in two brand new locations in Chelsea. Opening night will be held at the SVA Theatre, and the duration of the ADFF, from October 14-18, 2015, will be held at the Bow Tie Chelsea Cinemas - a newer, bigger and more central location to accommodate a large expected audience and allow for exciting new programming. James' work with UrbanGlass began more than two decades ago, when he worked in our studios to create unique projects in glass. The class "Light: Beyond Transparency" requires no previous knowledge about glass processes and techniques, but will include time in the studio learning about how the material is manipulated.
Online international competition organizer archasm has launched its “Chandigarh Unbuilt: Completing the Capitol” ideas competition, which seeks designs to finalize and complement Le Corbusier’s Capitol Complex in Chandigarh, India.
Three buildings at the complex have been built according to Le Corbusier’s plans—the Secretariat, Assembly Hall, and High Court—but the fourth and final building, called the Museum of Knowledge, has yet to be conceptualized.
