As part of the commemoration of 170 years of architectural education in the country and the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of Chile (FAU), a pavilion will be inaugurated to celebrate these two significant milestones over the course of a month through various activities.

Under the theme "BIM: The Impact on Cities," the 2nd BIM CREA SC will present concepts, case studies, and trends for implementing BIM in urban centers—ranging from public policies to private sector projects and construction.

The first phase of the ELO de ação project raised R$31,864.00 through donations from 263 individuals. These funds provided 360 food baskets, 670 masks, and materials to manufacture an additional 800 reusable masks, as well as clothing, books, and supplies, which also benefited local economies. All of this was made possible through the active participation of each partner in decentralized efforts within the communities.

FROM WOMEN, FOR WOMEN!
In partnership with CAU/SC, we are launching the workshop "This Way: Creating Safer Spaces for Women." This event is exclusively for those who identify as women, aiming to create a network of dialogue and support.

Speakers from Latin America and around the world join Venezuelan architects—both abroad and within Venezuela—to reflect on the exercises conducted within their educational spaces, workshops, and teaching experiences in communities and architecture schools. These "out-of-the-box" operational methods break away from conventional teaching, driven by a defiant attitude toward approaching themes, contexts, and disciplinary problems that are typically absent from standard curricula.

As part of the commemorative events for World Architecture Day 2020, the Valencia-based firm ERRE arquitectura will host a conference on Thursday, October 22, at 7:00 PM. The firm will present their most significant built works, such as L'Alqueria del Basket and Marina de Empresas in Valencia, as well as ongoing projects like the Valencia Arena multipurpose venue, which has recently broken ground.

This course uses the Bauhaus as a lens to examine the broader historical trajectory from the 20th century to the present, ultimately returning to our own practice to better understand the school and its lasting impact. It shifts between viewing the Bauhaus from the outside in and observing the world through its perspective. The course emphasizes the relationship between behaviors, objects, and their respective eras, spanning from the dawn of industrial consumer society to our current hyper-consumerist age. In doing so, we will cultivate a multidisciplinary, open, and relational perspective—perhaps the Bauhaus’s most significant contribution to our time.

NATIONAL PUBLIC ARCHITECTURE AND URBANISM COMPETITION FOR ATHIS SANITARY UNIT LAUNCHED

Registration is now open for the ‘Ir e Vir’ ideas competition, a contest for architecture students across Brazil that aims to investigate the impact of the pandemic on our collective imagination and its repercussions on the practice of the contemporary city through architectural projects.

After seven years of publishing rita_—an indexed journal of academic texts—and in light of the wealth of fascinating research being conducted across Ibero-America and the many authors with significant contributions to make, we have decided to take the next step by launching the Habitar Iberoamérica novel and essay collection.

This is an open call for projects and publications completed during the four years preceding each edition of the BAQ. Over its twenty-one editions, the Biennial Competition has received more than 7,000 entries and has recognized contributions to the practice of architecture, urbanism, landscape, theory, and architectural dissemination.
