In this issue of Dearq "Perennial: Architecture's Timeless Dimensions" we are particularly interested in the relationships between materials, architectural elements, spatial and formal arrangements, as well as the instruments and methods we use to describe and classify these connections in order to better understand what stands the test of time and what does not.

MEDS (Meeting of Design Students) is a global network dedicated to transforming spaces through creative, hands-on workshops. This year, Rijeka—known for its rich industrial heritage and cultural diversity—will be the hosting city. In its 14th edition, MEDS Workshop invites international participants to explore Rijeka's fascinating history, vibrant culture, and evolving urban landscape through the lens of its unique textures. Get ready to engage with the city's stories and immerse yourself in an inspiring creative journey!

The Institute of Smart City and Management - University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH - ISCM) cordially invites scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to submit your explorations on innovative strategies for "Smart Adaptation" in Asian urban contexts, which shall be shared in the seminar "Asian Urbanisms: Smart Adaption". Design Doha Biennale returns for its second edition from April 16 – June 30, 2026, expanding its presence across Doha and reinforcing the city’s position as a global hub for design, creativity, and cultural exchange.
As we embark on this next chapter, Design Doha invites curators to submit exhibition proposals that spotlight the region’s rich cultural heritage and pioneering design talent. Selected exhibitions will be presented across various venues in Doha, contributing to a dynamic and inclusive dialogue on contemporary design in the region and beyond.

The Master in Collective Housing (MCH), in collaboration with TC Cuadernos, a renowned architecture magazine, has announced the second annual call for research grants. This grant, aimed at supporting architecture thesis or research projects, offers up to €6,000 to help transform the work into a published book.

In Decentered City: Multispecies Design, a “decentered approach” implies redistributing agency in spatial production, challenging conventional urbanization models and envisioning new ways of inhabiting the world, acknowledging the ecological crisis and fostering interspecies urban environments.

The Biennale d'architecture et de paysage d'Île de France, to be held in Versailles from May 6 to July 13, 2025, is the most important architecture exhibition in France. For the third edition, the exhibition at the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Versailles is co-curated by architects Sana Frini, from the Mexican office LOCUS, and Philippe Rahm, from the French office PHILIPPE RAHM ARCHITECTES.

We are pleased to announce the release of the first edition of the NASA India Research Conference 24-25 (NIRC 24-25), a NASA India Research Cell Initiative. A two stage research conference with initial Abstract submission and final paper submission. An initiative which fosters critical thinking, deepens understanding of design challenges, and contributes to innovative solutions for sustainability, technology integration, and societal impact in the built environment.
