Following the success of the 2017 workshop, where students conceived the Amazon Climate Change Learning Center—one of 15 finalists selected from 384 proposals in the WDCD Climate Change Challenge—this year’s AA Visiting School Amazon workshop is all about hands-on experience.
The goal is to design and build a small prototype of an experimental floating structure in the middle of Lake Mamori in the Amazon. However, debates regarding Women in Architecture or the relationship between feminism and architecture began at least in the 1970s and extend beyond women's rights. They have materialized through meetings, literature, and individual and collective paths that contribute to the theoretical and practical transformation of architecture.
