How can we cultivate a holistic, complex, and systemic perspective on what we call home? How can we produce new ways of valuing and recognizing non-hegemonic cultures? What are the pathologies of the systems we are taught to believe in, and how can we create new forms of perception and action that recognize the interconnectedness of life’s production and organizational systems?

On August 26 and 27, the second workshop of the project will take place, themed: “Comprehensive City – A New Vision of the Metropolis.” The proposal is to reflect on the issues surrounding large metropolises in the 21st century, focusing primarily on the perspective of people, the connections created between them and the city, and, above all, how architects, as professionals, can act as mediators in the challenges of the contemporary city.
The course is structured around visits to contemporary architectural works in São Paulo, always in the company of the architect who developed the project. A public inaugural class will be held to present the course and explain the logistics of the visits. The selection of sites to be visited is based on the following criteria: location, scale, author, and use. Each visit includes discussions on topics such as the practical realities of architectural practice, education, new technologies, work processes, and the project's relationship with the city.
As part of the celebration of 22 years of disciplinary and professional training, the UTEM School of Architecture (Chile) is organizing the 2019 UTEM School of Architecture Week, titled "The Project Within the Project." These proposals should integrate public and green spaces, utilizing best practices in architectural design, innovation, and sustainability to ensure healthy neighborhood coexistence, equal access and opportunity, freedom from discrimination, and safe, affordable, and accessible housing for lower-income groups in society.
This edition of the Architectural Culture Lecture Series [CCCA] explores various approaches to architecture and the city through the lens of architectural drawing. This semester, the lectures will focus on the section—the representation of a building cut vertically. This tool not only reveals the structure of a work for construction purposes but also illustrates the relationship between interior and exterior space, the scale of volumes, circulation, and light.
The Third International Seminar on Material Culture serves as a forum for dialogue and reflection on the exhibition of diverse practices linked to material exploration in contemporary architectural culture. Urban Detox provides you a public platform to encourage a strong sense of spatial qualities in a fast-paced urban circumstances. It is a competition of ideas, an opportunity to experiment and explore the limits of architecture. It focuses on creating a design that helps city dwellers to maximize their happiness, to heal their mind and body, to offer them freedom to live through self-expression, and most of all, to engage their five senses in experiencing space. This competition aims to collect design ideas geared towards how architecture can bring forth the overlooked qualities in a Jakarta commuting atmosphere. It encourages to add values to the commuting culture. The competition is open for all undergraduate university students all around the world. It can be Individual or team (up to 3 people) consist of at least one student from architecture or interior architecture major.
