A cash prize of € 15,000 will be awarded to winners. Located in a prime location in the city of Taipei, the invaluable large open space at the Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab (C-LAB) is historically significant as it used to be home to the Industrial Research Institute of the Taiwanese Governor-General’s Office and also the Air Force Command Headquarters under the Ministry of National Defense. Since the Ministry of Culture took over its operations in 2018, C-LAB has become a place for art and cultural experimentation, with various participatory events and actions initiated and reflections and imaginations for contemporary urban space and lifestyle projected.

Adpprentice has launched a new academic-professional bridge program for recent graduates, in which participants are integrated into a design team at an internationally renowned architecture firm. Participants join at a level typically reserved for senior architects or even firm principals. They will gain full-time professional experience, actively participating in the design processes required to execute a real project, from its theoretical conception to the production of presentation materials meeting international standards.

Ser Urbano is an annual event hosted by the Architecture and Urbanism program at PUC-Rio. Focused on the post-processing stage of architectural photography, the new {CURA} workshop will be led by architectural and urban photographer Manuel Sá. Winner of the 2018 IAB-SP Architectural and City Photography Award, Manuel Sá is a member of the London-based Studio Naaro.
Using Lightroom and Photoshop, the workshop will cover everything from photo organization and selection to general processing in Lightroom and specific adjustments in Photoshop. Through practical examples of interior and exterior photography, the sessions aim to explore the editing possibilities these tools offer for commercial architectural photography.

The Avery Review, a journal of critical essays on architecture published by the Office of Publications at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation, invites submissions for its third annual Essay Prize. The call is open to current students (undergraduate and masters) and recent graduates, whether in schools of architecture or elsewhere (eligibility details below). In keeping with the mission of the journal, we hope to receive submissions that use the genres of the review and the critical essay to explore some of the urgent questions animating the field of architecture. We’re looking for essays that test and expand the author’s own intellectual commitments—theoretical, architectural, and political—through the work of others.
