RAYANDOLAT: Advanced Architectural Design Workshop with Gustavo Utrabo

From April 28 to 30, 2026, at Plaza Mayor Medellín, Heimtextil Colombia will bring together over 120 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and over 4,000 attendees from strategic markets such as the United States, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, and Venezuela. This event establishes Colombia as a key regional hub for connecting supply, demand, and investment in home textiles, interior design, and the contract business.

In 2026, Tecnológico de Monterrey celebrates the 80th anniversary of its Architecture program. The XXV Pan-American Biennial of Architecture of Quito – PROHIBIDO NO TOCAR takes over the city with the Pavilion Design Competition for public spaces in Quito.

An ideas competition for the redefinition of the 21st-century lighthouse as a habitable space, accessible to visitors, where architecture not only emits light but is also lived in, explored, and occupied.

A Mountain Sanctuary will be designed within the National Park in Argentine Patagonia as a space for pause and contemplation for hikers and mountaineers on their journey toward Mount Fitz Roy.
The MOUNTAIN SANCTUARY must be conceived as part of the natural flow of the trail, functioning as an organic pause within the ascent experience. The expectation is for a space that provides protection against the extreme weather conditions of the Patagonian environment (wind, cold, snow) without becoming a permanent or massive shelter.

The Baluarte Congress Palace in Pamplona will host the 6th International Forum on Wood Construction (FMC 2026) on June 3 and 4, 2026. This benchmark event analyzes the role of technical wood in residential, social, and industrial construction. Against a backdrop of housing shortages and the European goal of reducing sector emissions—which, according to the International Energy Agency, account for 39% of global CO₂ emissions—the event will bring together professionals exploring industrialized wood solutions to address both affordability and the reduction of the environmental footprint of buildings.

For this issue of Dearq, "The Spatial Dimension of Urban Mobility," we are seeking contributions that critically analyze the interrelationships between urban mobility, space, and the territorial dimension, while considering social dynamics and environmental aspects. We place special emphasis on understanding how mobility practices, policies, and projects interact with the built environment and contribute to producing—or transforming—urban and regional landscapes.

For this issue of Dearq, "Tectonic Matter," we are seeking contributions that address tectonics not as a style or a fetishization of detail, but as a rigorous field in which the material realities of architecture—such as provenance, craft, labor, structural systems, fabrication protocols, and performance criteria—become inseparable from how space is perceived, inhabited, and understood.
Who can participate: We welcome contributions from architects, historians, theorists, engineers, educators, and researchers addressing this theme. Interdisciplinary approaches and perspectives from specific contexts are encouraged, provided they remain anchored in tectonics as a conceptual and practical field of architectural invention.
The editors invite submissions of research articles, case studies, visual essays, and projects, provided they are original, unpublished, and comply with the journal's editorial policy.
