Portobello has just launched the Soma line, co-created with architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha; Oh!Take and its complement, Soul, designed by Ruy Ohtake; and Shibori, developed with Italian designer Paola Navone. These products are part of the 2022 Unlimited Dreams collection, launched simultaneously at Expo Revestir and in Portobello Shop stores across Brazil in early March.
At the beginning of the 20th century, a bomb exploded at 2 Rua Helvetia, in downtown São Paulo. This occurred during the 1924 Paulista Revolution, also known as "the revolution that São Paulo forgot": a tenentista uprising harshly suppressed by government-loyal troops. After 23 days of bombardment that primarily affected the civilian population, newspapers celebrated the victory of legality and the crushing of the revolution. A century later, under the justification of maintaining that same legality, many other bombs—both real and symbolic—have exploded over that same territory, impacting the most vulnerable above all.

“I’ve always been quite interested in keeping up with what’s happening on a technical front,” said Nick Lawrence, a practice director at A&Q Partnership in London. The Spanish Council of Architects (CSCAE) has launched a competition for the design of the sculpture to be awarded to the winners of the Architecture Awards. COMPAC, as the official sponsor of the awards, will provide participants with the materials to create the piece. The design must be original, and the competition is open to architects and multidisciplinary teams of artists and designers working in collaboration with architects. The deadline for submitting proposals is April 22. The winner will receive a cash prize of 5,000 euros.

Harquitectes is one of the most compelling architecture firms on the current international scene. While their work has been extensively published—in various monographic magazine issues, among other publications—less attention has been paid to the thinking that underlies the nearly twenty years of work by these Catalan architects.
This book compiles a series of texts and interviews that offer moments of reflection and unprecedented, long-awaited theoretical construction regarding Harquitectes' architectural production and their professional attitude. It provides broad context regarding the firm as a project in itself, as well as insights into the specific character of their work.
This selection of texts represents part of the interest that the figure of Aldo Rossi has sparked over the last decade. His work was an almost constant presence in international architectural debates during the final third of the 20th century, particularly in the 1970s and 1980s; yet, it was just as uncompromisingly erased as we approached the turn of the century. These are "architects' texts"—that is, the production of thought in relation to the practice of architecture itself, clarifying how one positions oneself toward architecture and the city through one's own work. They reveal a vast territory of inquiry that is still far from being exhausted.

What is Taller del Río?
It is a summer workshop organized by the Escuela Superior de Arquitectura Avanzada [ESAA] and the architecture firm [Ciudad Portátil] in Neiva, Colombia. The workshop aims to rethink new interactions within public space through experimental practices and the participatory construction of an ephemeral or semi-permanent installation that engages with its surroundings and reflects on being, belonging, and inhabiting the city of the Magdalena River.
Rhetoric has been broadly defined as the art of persuasion. Unfortunately, in the last two centuries, rhetoric has suffered a rather bad reputation because it has been deliberately overused to mislead and manipulate. However, the present argument claims that rhetoric is, above all, a method for creation, considering it as the study of the general relationships of unexpectedness for invention and persuasion.

The 1st Colloquium: Woman, City, and Architecture was held on October 17–18, 2019, in Salvador, Bahia, organized by the LAB20 research group of PPGAU/UFBA and ELAS of FAU/UnB. The event was established with a dual objective: to discuss architecture and urbanism through the experience and contributions of women in the city, and to foster collaboration among researchers who have been exploring this theme from multiple and diverse perspectives.
