Remaining works from hundreds and thousands of years ago are evidence of the ancient art of interior design in Iran. Considering the historical background of this art in Iran, the first Interior Design Award was established in 2009 as an independent event by Honar-e Memari Institute.

Following the success of previous editions in Venice and Chicago, the next edition of Shaping the City is scheduled to take place on the 5th and 6th of October, 2023, in New Orleans at the AIA, Center for Design and at the F. Taylor Library, Ogden Museum.

Building a Collective Archive: A Yale Traveler's Mnemosyne is a curatorial project that explores the impact and update of personal references in constructing a collective imaginario - a repository of collective imagination. Curated by architects Gabriel Hernández (Fulbright Visiting Fellow at Yale) and Alberto Martínez (La Caixa Foundation grant), the exhibition will be on display from 31 August through 6 October 2023 at the North Gallery space at Yale School of Architecture (YSoA), located at the iconic Rudolph Hall in New Haven, Connecticut.

_WHAT IS IT?
Stitching Subjectivities is a space for experimentation, collective research, and collaborative practices shaped by an exploration of the "five skins" theory by Austrian artist, activist, and writer Friedensreich Hundertwasser.

On October 10 at 7:00 PM, Arquitectura en Corto invites you to the Fundación Arquia in Madrid (Tutor, 16) for the screening of "Bamboo: The Tradition of the Future." This documentary, directed by Swedish architect and filmmaker Johan Granberg, explores the potential of bamboo in contemporary construction and its extraordinary qualities in the fight against climate change. Following the screening, a panel discussion will be held with architects who are experts in the use of this material. Jesús Hernández, Director of Architecture at Estudio Lamela, was responsible for the construction of the T4 terminal at Madrid-Barajas Airport, the largest project in Spain built with bamboo; Eugenia Muscio, an architect and PhD from ETSAM, is a researcher specializing in the use of bamboo in construction; and Greta Tresserra, an architect, is the Founder and Creative Director of BambooHUB.

As part of We Design Beirut's main program, under “We Preserve” a collective exhibition will be staged at Villa Audi. Curated by Babylon -The Agency founded by Joy Mardini and William Wehbe, the exhibition of over 33 product designers from the region celebrates the rich heritage of Middle Eastern design and its harmonious integration within the historic Villa Audi.

As part of We Design Beirut's main program, under "We Sustain" a collective exhibition will be held showcasing sustainability projects by student designers from ALBA, AUB, LAU, USEK, and USJ under the advisory of three internationally renowned design experts, Federica Sala, Anne-France Berthelon, and François Leblanc Di Cicilia.
