Construction of a Labyrinth is the latest proposal from the artistic team of Elena Morón and Jesús Marina. It features latent virtual images that will gradually emerge, physical photographs that truly exist, a play on codes and texts, and real voids and perforations created by the artists.
In light of the highly contentious revision process of Porto Alegre’s Master Plan, the sixth edition of this micro-walking festival will focus on "the effects of a Master Plan on daily life." We believe it is urgent to bring the public closer to this crucial debate, opening up different fronts of resistance—both in legal and administrative spheres and in the social field—to renegotiate a desirable city, far beyond the neoliberal, consumption-oriented, and individualistic model that sectors of the public administration and the private sector seek to impose upon us.

To mark the 10th anniversary of the Young Architects Program associated with MoMA in New York, Constructo is hosting the International Young Architects Festival (YAF_CONSTRUCTO) in Chile for the second consecutive year, featuring prominent emerging voices in international architecture and design, as well as distinguished curators.
"How to Design a Revolution: The Chilean Way to Design" is part of the commemorative activities marking 50 years since the civil-military coup d'état in Chile. The exhibition focuses on the graphic and industrial design produced during the government of President Salvador Allende (1970–1973). It is co-produced by the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and the Centro Cultural La Moneda (CCLM), with the collaboration of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge, and Innovation and the Goethe-Institut Chile. The exhibition will remain on view until January 28, 2024.
This workshop focuses on a design exercise regarding urban housing for diverse social sectors and is intended for architects and advanced architecture students. The launch of the first industrial printer for additive construction in Latin America will take place on Thursday, December 14, at the Universidad del Bío-Bío's Concepción campus. This printer will enable the construction of entire houses in Latin America for the first time. Sesc Rio de Janeiro invites you to the opening of the exhibition "Da Kutanda ao Quitandinha – 80 anos" on December 1, 2023, starting at 10:00 AM. The exhibition marks the beginning of the 80th-anniversary celebrations for the venue, which opened in 1944 as a hotel-casino and now houses the Sesc Quitandinha Cultural Center. Curated by Marcelo Campos, the expansive exhibition is organized into six sections, tracing a narrative that begins in the 18th century with the earliest records of Black presence in the Freguesia de Nossa Senhora de Inhomirim—the foundation of the region's settlement—via the Piabanha River and the plantations that relied on enslaved labor, ultimately giving rise to the city now known as Petrópolis.
Remote Residencies is an initiative emerging from the Architecture program at Campus Creativo in collaboration with the Outreach department of the Universidad Andrés Bello. Addressing the climate crisis requires an urgent transformation of urban lifestyles, as cities are the largest polluters and energy consumers, primarily due to the excessive use of motorized vehicles. Promoting cities where people can actively commute—on foot or by bicycle—for their daily activities is the path championed by the Instituto Caminhabilidade. To this end, the institute created the Walkable City Award (Prêmio Cidade Caminhável), which recognizes and inspires actions for walkable cities in Brazil.
On Thursday, March 2, architects Joan Busquets, professor at Harvard University; Clara Olóriz, researcher and professor at the Architectural Association; and Martha Thorne, distinguished professor at the IE School of Architecture and Design, will join journalist Llàtzer Moix to discuss the role of architecture in addressing the primary challenges of the climate emergency and the need to improve living conditions on the planet.
