Fourth edition of the Collective Journal

The fourth edition of "Jornal Coletivo," to be distributed for free in November, explores the theme of creativity. This focus is informed by the Cannes Advertising Festival, which ranks Brazil as the third most creative country in the world, trailing only the United States and the United Kingdom.

Conversations: The Life of Things

In conjunction with the "The Life of Things" exhibition, organized by the School of Architecture in the Campus Creativo Hall, a series of meetings on circular design in architecture will be held from two perspectives. These sessions will take place during the exhibition on September 1st and 2nd at 12:00 PM in a hybrid format at the Universidad Andrés Bello Campus Creativo Television Studio.

Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia offers scholarships for the second edition of the Online Master in Ibero-American Cities

Following the success of the first edition of the Jaime Lerner Scholarship in 2021, the IAAC, in partnership with the Uruguayan firm Gómez Platero Arquitectura & Urbanismo, is launching the second edition of the Jaime Lerner Scholarships. This year, the scholarship is offered to professionals from all Latin American countries to pursue our Online Master in Cities: The Proximity Urbanism for the 2022/2023 academic year. In doing so, the sponsors reinforce their commitment to supporting early-career architects in their efforts to specialize and effectively contribute to better cities in their respective countries.

BLOCO Arquitetos releases documentary featuring award-winning projects in Brazil and abroad

BLOCO Arquitetos, led by Daniel Mangabeira, Henrique Coutinho, and Matheus Seco, will present the premiere of the documentary "BLOCO Arquitetos em Construção" on April 29 at 7:00 PM at Cine Brasília. The film explores the influence of the city and the natural landscape on the firm's work. The architects note that the principles of modern architecture established at the founding of Brasília continue to inspire a contemporary, distinctly Brazilian architecture that addresses today's challenges.

Urban Traverse: "Bellas Artes and Miraflores: A Tragedy of Styles"

Fabián Barros, an architect, academic, and Ph.D. in Advanced Architectural Projects, will lead the upcoming Atravieso Urbano—a walking tour organized by the Universidad Finis Terrae School of Architecture in partnership with the Nuestro Centro association—which explores the cultural, urban, and historical significance of the neighborhood.

Recorte, a design magazine created by designers, launches its inaugural issue.

On Friday, March 11, the launch of Recorte will take place in São Paulo. The magazine, focused on design and creativity, is produced, edited, and funded by a community of designers, illustrators, and creative industry professionals.

Robotic Timber Construction Workshop

The workshop is designed for architects, engineers, designers, students, and/or academics who wish to learn about and explore the design, programming, and robotic execution of timber joinery. It will consist of two intensive days of hands-on work, covering everything from computational design to robotic timber fabrication. The workshop will be led by architect Francisco Quitral, with an introduction by architect Mauricio Vargas, MSc, both doctoral candidates at the University of Bío-Bío.
