Spanish Architecture Festival (FAE) 2025
September 4–5 · Mexico City
This September, Mexico City will become the epicenter of Spanish-language architecture with the 2025 edition of the Spanish Architecture Festival, an international gathering celebrating contemporary thought and practice.
Over two days, key voices in global architecture will gather at iconic sites of Mexican modern heritage to tour, inhabit, and reflect upon them through shared experience.

Designed as an intimate gathering, the Festival offers close access to its international guests: direct conversations, guided tours of Modern Movement works, and moments of connection where dialogue transcends the professional.
It is not just about talking about architecture, but about inhabiting it, exploring it in company, and sharing it through experience.
The program is framed by an exclusive multi-course meal prepared by chef Miguel Sánchez Navarro—creator of CARDO—accompanied by cocktails, with transportation included to facilitate the experience.
Venues
September 4 – Los Manantiales, Xochimilco
The first day will take place at the iconic Los Manantiales, a work by Félix Candela nestled among the canals of Xochimilco. This reinforced concrete shell—one of the architect's most emblematic structures—stands as a symbol of 20th-century structural experimentation and formal beauty.
September 5 – Bacardí Plant, Tultitlán
The second day moves to the Bacardí Plant in the State of Mexico, an exceptional enclave that brings together two key works of the Modern Movement: the bottling plant designed by Félix Candela and the office building designed by Mies van der Rohe. A setting where industrial architecture becomes a manifesto.

2010 Pritzker Prize laureate, co-founder of SANAA, and author of iconic works such as the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art and the Teshima Art Museum.

Architect and artist recognized for experimental installations and a narrative approach that rethinks how we inhabit space.
● Cristina Díaz Moreno and Efrén García Grinda (Amid.cero9, Spain)
Founders of the influential Madrid-based studio and professors at institutions such as Harvard, Princeton, and the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
● Mauricio Rocha (Taller Mauricio Rocha, Mexico)
Winner of the 2023 Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize, author of works such as the Anahuacalli Museum expansion and the San Pablo Academic and Cultural Center.

January Courses - IAB-RJ Compartilha 2025 Season.

The contemporary dance group Laboratório 60 will perform this Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 4:30 PM, at the exhibition "Fazer o ar" by artist Iole de Freitas at the Paço Imperial. Composed of Bea Aragão, Bento Dias, Cecília Carvalhosa, Gil Duarte, and Ísis Lua, the group will present a new, free performance within the exhibition space, interacting with the artist's works.

“Construyendo Paisajes” is the title of the lecture series organized by Espaço de Arquitetura, taking place on September 23 and 24 at 9:00 PM in Lisbon and Porto, featuring the 2017 Pritzker Architecture Prize winners, RCR Arquitectes, as the guest studio.

The 18th edition of the international architecture seminar "From Territory to Detail" serves as a space for dialogue and reflection, bringing together students, academics, and professionals in the field alongside renowned Latin American architects. These architects share a common trait: they balance teaching with professional practice across diverse areas, ranging from editorial work to artistic experimentation.

Launch Webinar for the Diploma in Additive Design and Construction at the University of Bío-Bío. The program provides specialized training in the application of new additive design and construction technologies, particularly using cementitious mixtures for building. It aims to leverage the potential of 3D printing in architectural projects, urban equipment, and infrastructure, building on the University of Bío-Bío's distinguished multidisciplinary track record and advanced equipment. The university is a leader in this field in Latin America, evidenced by innovative projects such as the 3D-Printed Cabin, Urban Furniture, and the Seed House (Casa-Semilla).

Casa Cristo, designed by architect Luis Barragán in 1929, will host the exhibition "Reflejos de Zohn: Guadalajara en edificios e imágenes" (Reflections of Zohn: Guadalajara in Buildings and Images). The exhibition will open on February 1st as part of Guadalajara Art Week.
Curated by Mimi Zeiger and the curatorial duo Tony Macarena (Lorena Canales and Alejandro Olávarri), the exhibition uses images and objects to articulate the legacy of Mexican-Austrian architect and engineer Alejandro Zohn (1930–2000), whose impact on Guadalajara’s civic and commercial architecture spanned from the 1950s to the 1990s.

An exhibition featuring 25 furniture, home textile, art, and decor brands, organized by ANIEME (National Association of Furniture Manufacturers and Exporters) in collaboration with ATEVAL (Textile Entrepreneurs Association).

From December 9 to 11, 2025, Madrid will become an urban laboratory, coordinating over 85 experts in various cross-disciplinary debates and bilateral dialogues with participants from Tokyo, London, Vienna, Paris, Oslo, Stockholm, Singapore, and Copenhagen, fostering the exchange of experiences and the search for innovative solutions for the cities of the future.

19TH NATIONAL CONGRESS OF ARCHITECTS TO BE HELD IN LIMA FROM OCTOBER 22 TO 25
More than 800 participants from across the country are expected to attend.

Architect and philosopher Valpírio Gianni Monteiro will be at the Instituto Ling this May to lead the course Infinito Regresso: tradição e ruptura na arquitetura e no design. The course will consist of three sessions, held on Thursdays from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on May 8, 15, and 22, providing a broad overview of the key schools and cultural trends that have shaped architecture and design from the 20th century to the present day.

Conceiving and Building: Lightweight Structures and Prefabrication

The guiding principles of the "Conceiving and Building" postgraduate program are technique, economy, environment, and aesthetics. These factors drive the selection of lightweight structures and prefabrication. The course addresses 21st-century demands for building lightness; responsibility regarding the origin, application, and disposal of construction materials; awareness of the various forms of social and technical organization on construction sites; the increasing integration of systems that interface buildings and urban infrastructure with energy sources, water quality, and air quality; and, above all, the urgency of facing the challenge of conceiving, building, and managing cities and territories.

‘Emerging Graphics’ by Tirry Pataxó

The 2026 UIA World Congress of Architects (UIA2026BCN) has launched the International Emerging Workshop, a specially designed program that invites students and young professionals to engage in experimental studios led by twelve emerging architecture firms. Scheduled for June 19–27, 2025—one week prior to the congress—the program serves as a prelude, offering dynamic workshops, public lectures, inspiring dialogues with mentors, and city tours. 180 participants from around the world will collaborate across twelve workshops, fostering cross-cultural and interdisciplinary exchange. Each workshop will explore a specific research direction centered on the congress theme, "Becoming. Architectures for a Planet in Transition." Outcomes will be showcased in a dedicated exhibition during the congress.

"Dentro da Pós" offers a free opportunity to engage in conversation, ask questions, and learn more about each of the seven lato sensu postgraduate programs offered by Escola da Cidade, with direct access to the respective faculty and coordinators.

The third Lima International Architecture Biennial will take place in November. This significant event seeks to recognize and reward the best practices in architecture and urbanism in the capital. It will feature the participation of the cities of Singapore and Shenzhen.

A seminar analyzing the legacy of the Bauhaus and modern design in Brazil will be held at MAM Rio, featuring Brazilian and international experts.
