We remain convinced that, now more than ever, academia must be linked to social issues by creating School+Community projects. With over 1,500 students, architects, and professors from 20 countries having participated in the 28 chapters held to date, we invite you to continue contributing to this initiative.

As a specialized exhibition, it focuses on the visitor experience and the professionalization of an increasingly sophisticated industry. The event aims to foster connections between professionals and companies in the Mexican construction finishes sector, further elevating the market level and serving as a benchmark for trends and design for architects, interior designers, builders, developers, distributors, and industry professionals.
As part of a free event organized by ArchDaily in partnership with Obra Blanca Expo on October 12 at 10:30 AM, Carlos Manuel González Baute will present in Mexico City to discuss the work of his firm, Albor Arquitectos, where he is currently a partner alongside Alain Rodríguez Sosa, Camilo José Cabrera Pérez, and Merlyn González García. Their work is based in Cienfuegos, a city on the southern coast of Cuba known for its colonial-era buildings.
On October 19, 21, and 22, Mexico City will host the first design festival created by Coolhuntermx, conceived by and for projects led by cisgender women, transgender people, and dissident communities. Curated by designers Andrea Soler and Taina Campos, the event offers an inclusive, diverse, and collective space. Following an inaugural edition marked by significant shared learning and insights, the festival maintains its core objective: to serve as an integrative platform for design proposals and creative expressions that seek to foster dialogues alternative to those typically seen during design month.
During the last decade we have witnessed how the profession has diversified to work from different trenches, yes out of curiosity, but mainly due to economic factors related to the economic and environmental crises that have hit in recent years. I think that one of the great myths that is lived in architecture universities is to think that, when they graduate, that entire generation will dedicate themselves to building great buildings. The reality is that it is not like that and over the years, it is very common that according to the specific interests of each person, the opportunities are diversified to make them participate in other areas that make up the architecture in an integral way.

As part of the new cultural program of the María Luisa Dehesa Gómez Farías Gallery, located at the School of Architecture of the Autonomous University of Mexico, the photography exhibition "¡Juntas! Manifestaciones feministas y la apropiación del espacio público" ("Together! Feminist Demonstrations and the Appropriation of Public Space") opened on Friday, February 25. On Thursday, November 17, Mexico City hosted the tenth-anniversary celebration of ArchDaily México, the local edition of the world's most visited architecture website. The exclusive event was held at “Lago/Algo,” a project conceived to recover and redefine the iconic building known as "Restaurante Lago"—originally opened on October 24, 1964, designed by architect Alfonso Ramírez Ponce, renovated first by Javier Sordo Madaleno in 1998, and most recently by Naso in 2021—giving it a new purpose that challenges us to rethink our relationship with private space, public space, and the Chapultepec Forest.

LIGA, Espacio para arquitectura is a non-profit institution dedicated to promoting emerging Latin American architecture through a public program of exhibitions, lectures, and publications. On September 23, 2022, the institution celebrated 10 years of work at its headquarters on Calle Doctor Erazo 176, in Colonia Doctores, Mexico City. The anniversary also honored the work of three prominent women whose contributions have been crucial to Latin American architecture: Tatiana Bilbao (Mexico), Marta Moreira (Brazil), and Florencia Román (Argentina).
The history of Mexican photography has helped shape Mexico's global presence. Photographers like Elsa Medina, Lola Álvarez Bravo, Graciela Iturbide, Maya Goded, and Juan Rulfo have masterfully captured the life of buildings, homes, and streets in a rapidly developing nineteenth-century Mexico. Tulum is a region located in southeastern Mexico, within the state of Quintana Roo, specifically on the coast of the Caribbean Sea, and is part of the Riviera Maya. Historically, Tulum was a walled city; its name, which means "wall" in Mayan, arose when the settlement was already in ruins.
In recent years, sustainability has been at the forefront of debates across all disciplines due to the ongoing environmental crisis. One concept that design, architecture, and urbanism have embraced is the "Circular Economy," as experience has shown the profession that efforts must go beyond simply incorporating recycling into our strategies. Instead, it is necessary to focus on sharing, leasing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing, and recycling existing materials and products for as long as possible to prevent waste.
