More about this product

Europerfil develops and manufactures metal profiles, sandwich panels, and construction systems for building envelopes. The company offers a wide range of steel and metal cladding solutions designed for use across diverse building typologies, focusing on performance, durability, and architectural integration.

The Eurocol 60 steel profiles and custom perforated aluminum façade profile from Europerfil were applied in the German School of Valencia extension project.

The first phase of the extension of the German School of Valencia forms part of a long-term master plan aimed at organizing the future growth of the campus. The intervention includes the construction of a new secondary school building, a connection gallery linking the existing facilities, the renovation of the first floor of the original administrative building, and the reconfiguration of outdoor spaces. Together, these elements establish a new organizational structure for the school while maintaining continuity with the existing complex.

Product Application

Designed by Orts & Trullenque, the project balances functional efficiency with environmental performance. The new volume is organized to accommodate classrooms, circulation spaces, and common areas, prioritizing clarity of movement, visual connectivity, and natural lighting. The connection gallery plays a key role in integrating new and old buildings, acting as a transitional space that reinforces internal coherence across the campus.

The architectural envelope is one of the defining elements of the project. The façade is resolved using a custom-made perforated aluminum profile from Europerfil with a pyramidal, folded geometry and pronounced depth, generating a dynamic volumetric expression. The profile is cut at its edges, creating a continuous but articulated surface that responds to both structural and aesthetic requirements. The perforation pattern allows filtered natural light to enter interior spaces while maintaining solar protection and visual consistency.

Product Application

The aluminum profiles from Europerfil receive a post-anodized surface treatment, enhancing durability and resistance to environmental exposure. This solution provides long-term performance with minimal maintenance, which is particularly relevant in large educational facilities. In addition, the aluminum used in the façade contains more than 90% recycled material, reinforcing the project’s environmental commitment and material responsibility.

The floor slabs incorporate Eurocol 60 steel profiles from Europerfil without embossing and finished in white, functioning as permanent formwork. These elements provide structural support while contributing to a clean and uniform interior appearance. Additional steel profiles, pre-coated on the visible underside, are used as lost formwork in specific areas, optimizing construction efficiency and reducing material waste.

Product Application

From an energy perspective, the building achieves an A energy rating, the highest classification under Spanish standards. This performance results from the integration of passive design strategies, optimized envelope behavior, and material selection. The combination of controlled solar exposure, thermal stability, and recycled materials positions the project within contemporary sustainability frameworks.

Beyond its technical resolution, the extension of the German School of Valencia demonstrates how industrialized building systems and custom metal solutions can support educational architecture. The project establishes a strong architectural identity while responding to environmental, functional, and social demands, contributing to the evolution of sustainable learning environments.
