Modular Tile Facade at the Edge ElbSide | MOEDING

Moeding is a German manufacturer specializing in brick tiles for facades with a large variety of shapes, colors, and textures, with signature models that simplify their production and installation processes. Their ALPHATON^® Modular Cladding for Ceramic Facades was implemented on the Edge ElbSide office development in Hamburg's HafenCity.

Designed by Behnisch Architekten Partnerschaft, the Edge ElbSide is the largest building constructed in Germany using the Slim-Floor construction method. The Slim-Floor method is characterised by savings of almost 50% CO₂. Due to its sustainable measures, such as implemented materials and a photovoltaic system, EDGE was awarded the HafenCity Platinum eco-label and WELL Core & Shell Gold. The brick red ALPHATON^® ceramic facade also contributes to the building's performance, providing durability and weather resistance.

The ALPHATON^® brick tiles can be used both vertically and horizontally on facades. They are available in 20 standard natural colors related to the material and chemical composition of the fired, unglazed ceramic tile.
