Tejas Borja is a worldwide leader in the production and distribution of ceramic roof tiles. Sourcing clay from Mediterranean quarries for over five decades, their products combine tradition, research and leading design for seamless integration into contemporary projects with cutting-edge technology.
Casa S is a single-family dwelling in the Spanish province of Soria, where the Salduero architecture is characterized by compact, double-roof volumes built in the stones from the surrounding quarries. This building is an intersection of two different volumes; one compact, thick and made in recycled local stone, with tile roofings and small openings. The other, literally intersecting with the first, is a light, glass-clad volume.

The design team relied on the Curved Tile C-45x20 by Tejas Borja with a weathered finish to assimilate into the style of the surrounding homes. Superposing modernity and tradition, Casa S represents and enables two distinct forms of local living.
The Curved roof tile C-45x20 is a tile with a smooth curvature profile of 45 cm in length and 20 cm in width, which forms a gutter profile roof. Its design allows different overlap measures between the parts. The edges tend to be convergent, resulting in a wide end and another narrow end to facilitate the assembly of pans and covers with the same format.
