More about this product

Frontek is the collection of ventilated ceramic facades by Group Greco Gres. These extruded porcelain tiles are extremely hard, light, and resistant, and they have an exclusive honeycomb system that strengthens them while reducing their weight.

This system provides all the energy advantages of a ventilated façade system, in addition to giving the building an aesthetic that allows the combination of different piece lengths, as well as counterbalanced designs and multiple rigging.

The Super Plus System for façade cladding is made up of the following elements, numbered from the external face of the cladding to its support wall structure:

  1. Frontek porcelain piece (standard and omega model).
  2. Ventilated air chamber with a minimum thickness of 3 cm so that the air convection movement generated inside is energy efficient.
  3. Thermal insulation whose thickness and type depend on the design and energy requirements of each project. (Grupo Greco Gres Internacional is not a provider of insulation).
  4. Anchoring substructure of the piece to the support wall.

The elements that make up the Plus System are:

ALUMINIUM CLIPS - Fix the plates to the horizontal profiles, placed by pressure with the installation tool included in the system.
VERTICAL ALUMINIUM TUBE PROFILE - On which the horizontal starter profiles and the horizontal profiles for clip are anchored. In turn, these vertical tubular profiles are anchored to the enclosure and slab of the building by means of corbels.
ALUMINUM BRACKETS - Joins the substructure to the supporting wall of the building and transmit the loads of the substructure to the support through the fixings.
SCREWS - For anchoring and fixing the elements of the substructure. For fastening the Super Plus System, different types of screws are used; depending on the position and elements to be connected.

The work must be performed by a qualified and specialized contractor in ventilated façades installation. The performance of the work must be according to the operations sequence followed in detail:

1. STAKEOUT PROCESS First, it will be necessary to stakeout the façade, checking the flatness of the support to be clad and verifying the level and the state of the support for a good choice of anchoring.

2. BRACKETS INSTALLATION First, the support brackets will be fixed on the support wall, the beams and/or the slab edges by the appropriate anchors to the support in question. Next, the retaining brackets should be placed and distributed aligned and counterpointed on both sides of the profile in a vertical direction, distributed in the enclosure, according to the layout previously carried out. The vertical distance will depend on the type and condition of the support and, in turn, on the loads to be transmitted to it, always being less than 110 cm.

3. PLACEMENT OF VERTICAL PROFILES The vertical profiles will fix, firstly, to the support brackets with three screws, one in a fixed hole and the other two in slots, and, successively, to the retention brackets with a screw positioned in the slotted hole. The distance between them should be 100 cm.

4. INSTALLATION OF THE THERMAL INSULATION In ventilated façades, the use of a thermal insulation in order to guarantee the building protection is essential. The ventilated façade not only must have an aesthetic function, but it also must be functional to the rest of the building and insulate thermally and acoustically the interior of the building.

5. PLACING THE HORIZONTAL PROFILES The horizontal starting profile is fixed to the tubular profiles by means of self-drilling stainless steel hexagonal screws. The distance between profiles will vary depending on the height of the chosen Frontek piece.

6. FITTING THE CLIPS AND FRONTEK PARTS Begin by placing a bead of polyurethane putty on the corrugated parts of the horizontal profiles. Subsequently, place the Frontek part by inserting its lower slit in the rail of the horizontal starter profile. Then, place the upper clips using pressure, with the clip installation tool, thus fixing the clips in the upper groove of the piece. Thus, the pieces will be stabilised.
