Z-Box Shades surround Wine-Tasting Facility in Vicenza | BANDALUX

Bandalux is a company leader in the design and manufacture of solar protection technologies. The Bandalux shades recently incorporated into the new building for Azienda Volcanalia protect its interior while they provide views of the surrounding landscape.

Located in the offshoots of the Lessini Mountains in Gambellara, Azienda Volcanalia’s wine-tasting building is clad in wood treated with a traditional Japanese technique called Yakisugi—a process that uses fire to create a charred, coal-black finish to preserve it from erosion. This design element is a tribute to the ancient volcanic forces that shaped the surrounding landscape, a nod to the bond between the complex and the geology of the place.

Architects chose the Bandalux Z-Box system, with stainless-steel guides and Polyscreen®️ 403 in ebony which integrates seamlessly into this project. It enhances the building’s aesthetic and provides excellent wind and solar protection while maintaining clear views of the breathtaking vineyard beyond.
