Indoor Bamboo Solutions in Shopping Center | MOSO® Bamboo

MOSO^® Bamboo supplies a range of sustainable bamboo products for both interior and exterior architecture. Developed to meet high technical and aesthetic standards, these materials combine performance, durability, and environmental responsibility, offering a renewable alternative to conventional construction materials.

MOSO^® Bamboo Industriale flooring, solid panels, and veneer were used in The CityLife Shopping District, located in Milan, Italy.

The CityLife Shopping District, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, shows the versatility of the material. With its distinctive curves and smooth forms, the architect brings an unprecedented dynamic into the shopping mall. The CityLife Shopping District incorporates the largest shopping mall in Italy: more than 80 shops, 20 restaurants, bars, and a cinema.

MOSO® Bamboo floors and ceilings set the interior foundation, complemented by pristine white walls. The contrast between white and natural bamboo enhances the architecture. Prominent, rounded bamboo pillars draw attention, seamlessly connecting floor to ceiling. The bamboo panels have been processed into columns that almost seamlessly flow into the ceiling beams.

Thanks to the curves in the ceiling, an impression of motion is created. In the central area, the counters of the information center and a bar are also made with MOSO^® Bamboo. Various restaurants and shops also opted for bamboo floors and furniture. Bamboo wood is visible everywhere in the CityLife Shopping District. For this project, over 2,500 m² of bamboo panels, 70,000 m of bamboo beams, and 1,000 m² of bamboo veneer were used.
