Round Ceiling Lights in Great Lakes Academy | Spectrum Lighting

The Great Lakes Academy in Chicago recently finished a major multi-phase renovation led by Wheeler Kearns Architects. The K-8 Charter School doubled the size of its current campus, by renovating a 75,000ft² nearby church that was built in 1952, which now connects to the original campus with a glass link.

The Great Lakes Academy rennovation focused heavily on sustainability by limiting its new construction, utilizing stock, repurposing materials, and engaging in energy-efficient practices and products. To further decrease the environmental impact, Spectrum Lighting's long-lasting LED 12" Round Cylinder Indirect/Direct cable ceiling mounted lights were used inside the project.

Interior Lights

The 12" Round Cylinder Indirect/Direct pendants by Spectrum Lighting were used in the combined cafeteria and gymnasium - a space that can easily be used for community and after-school events. The high-performance LEDs complimented the high ceilings, the natural light of the many windows, and the general architecture of the building.
