Studio2 Architects created a new contemporary beach house project in New Zealand. In the kitchen, they collaborate with Fisher & Paykel in the Scandanavian-style space with textured-wood interiors. Situated along the coast of Hahei, the concept behind the modern beach house was to match the shape of the existing landform and create a space that sits harmoniously within the natural surroundings.

The kitchen was designed as a natural focus for the project, as the family that owned the holiday house enjoy cooking together while having a social element. The layout allowed multiple people to move easily around the island while working. The architect from Studio2Architects Ltd. noted that the kitchen is a thoroughly social experience, and a space that everyone can be part of.
Fisher & Paykel's spacious and intuitive appliances help to create the concept of a social kitchen, by reducing the workload needed to perform different tasks. The easy-to-use functions of the built-in ovens enable the owners to turn their focus elsewhere, letting the ovens do the hard work for them. For cleaning up, the DishDrawer™ removes the discomfort that loading and unloading a conventional dishwasher causes.
The ability to match the various appliances to the desired finish, ensure that all products can blend seamlessly into the minimalist-style space, Fisher & Paykel's appliances did this in the clean–lined modern kitchens with simple-to-use control panels and designer handles to match all the products within their range, including the DishDrawer™ and the Fridge freezer. The ovens are based on standard dimensions and can be easily configured to suit any preference - side by side as here in Hahei House or stacked vertically.
