Armchair, polyurethane foam, linear, minimal design
Part of UniFor's heritage collection, Parigi is an armchair designed by Italian architect Aldo Rossi in the 1980s. With the goal of representing the perfect office space, Rossi created the Parigi armchair as a response to the functional needs of a workplace environment. Parigi is inspired by architectural elements as characterized by clean dark structural lines and rectangular red volumes for the seating and backrest cushions.
Design Concept
The Parigi armchair is conceived as a piece of furniture capable of adapting to living and working environments. Rossi's solution is a simple black and red seat which brings comfort and intimacy to the office space. Parigi also displays strong influences of Italian design with its iconic red color. Thus, Rossi creates an illusion with the red elements which appear solid and rigid, akin to the aesthetics of a traditional office environment, but are actually made of soft polyurethane foam to incorporate a more inviting feeling.
