The constitution of Unibetão dates back to 1974 in the scope and with the capital from the then Cinorte - Companhia de Cimentos do Norte.
With the nationalization of cement, it is integrated into Cimpor, from where it is transferred by 1980 decree to the IPE, which sells it by public tender in 1984, the date from which it joins the set of holdings held by Secil in the sector.
The size of the company at that time was modest, with five plants, one in Braga - the first at Unibetão - and the others in Viana do Castelo, Vila da Feira, Vila Nova de Gaia and Sines.
Since then, there has been continuous growth coupled with an expansion of its scope of action, whether through the purchase of other companies, or the setting up of new plants.
