D5 Lite is a visualization plugin for Revit that integrates AI-assisted exploration and real-time rendering into the Revit environment. The plugin allows architects to visualize design decisions while the BIM model remains active and editable, supporting visualization as Revit models develop.
Real-Time Visualization as the Revit Model Evolves
Adjusting interior materials natively inside a live Revit rendering view using the D5 Lite plugin
D5 Lite operates through a dedicated Revit tab, opening the D5 rendering engine in a window connected to the current model. Geometry changes made in Revit are reflected in the D5 Lite viewport.
Render Mode allows designers to work with physically based materials and adjust artificial lights, sky, sun, and HDRI environments while reviewing the current geometry. The workflow supports evaluation of façade treatments, material combinations, daylight, artificial lighting, and spatial conditions during design development.
The visualization process can be integrated into design development through a recurring workflow of model, visualize, evaluate, and adjust.
Explore Design Directions with AI Mode
D5 Lite in Revit—live visualization without leaving the model
AI Mode generates alternatives from the current Revit view using Style Presets, text prompts, reference images, and Structure Weight controls. The mode supports exploration of architectural, landscape, and interior directions using the existing model as a starting point.
AI Mode supports design exploration, while Render Mode supports evaluation of defined geometry, materials, and lighting conditions. Both modes allow visualization to adapt as design decisions develop.
Keep Visualization Connected to Revit
D5 Lite cross-platform real-time rendering plugin supporting Revit, SketchUp, and Rhino workflows
Material and lighting configurations created with D5 Lite are saved with the .rvt project, while geometry remains linked to the active Revit model. This keeps visualization connected to the BIM project as the model develops.
D5 Lite currently supports Revit 2019–2027 on Windows systems with supported NVIDIA RTX GPUs. An internet connection and D5 account are required.
From Design Development to Presentation
D5 Lite for Revit toolbar integrating BIM modeling with real-time rendering and visualization
D5 Lite is intended for design-stage visualization, including AI-assisted exploration, material and lighting evaluation, and static rendering.
When a project requires high-resolution production images, animations, immersive walkthroughs, or Interactive Presentation, the scene can move into D5 Render. Materials, lighting, environmental adjustments, and supported proxy models can continue into D5 Render, extending visualization work from design development into presentation production.
Together, D5 Lite and D5 Render provide a workflow from exploring and evaluating a Revit design to developing and presenting it.
