Modernfold manufactures operable partitions, glass wall systems and accordion doors for interiors that need to change configuration over time. The Acousti-Clear® single panel glass wall divides space acoustically without interrupting daylight or sightlines: panels of double-skin tempered glazing in aluminum frames are suspended individually from an overhead track and moved into position one at a time, reaching 51 STC when closed. It is available in two single-panel configurations, Motorized and Automatic, distinguished by how the perimeter seals engage.
Motorized: ComforTronic® seals
In the Motorized configuration, the panel is pushed into place and motorized top and bottom seals extend and retract under electronic control. Because sealing does not depend on how firmly the operator sets the panel, acoustic performance is consistent from one setup to the next — the usual argument for this configuration in spaces where the wall is closed daily and by different people. It runs on G330 track.
Automatic: panel-advance seals
The Automatic configuration sets top and bottom seals mechanically as each panel is advanced forward into the adjoining one, with no cranks, buttons or electrical service required. Seal clearance is 7/8 inch (23 mm) top and bottom with an operating range of ±3/8 inch (10 mm), so floor and ceiling tolerances should be verified during construction. Track options are G330 and #17G.
Panel construction and acoustics
Panels are 4 inches (100 mm) thick in double-skin tempered glass, with a minimum horizontal frame profile of 4.6875 inches (119 mm) and hanging weights between 10 and 11.5 lbs/sq.ft. Acoustic ratings are 51 or 45 STC for glazed panels and 50 STC for solid panels, which allows glazed and solid panels to be combined in one run where partial privacy is needed. Panels interconnect through convex and concave aluminum profiles with sealing lips, combining friction fit with a positive interlock.
Dimensions, closure and finishes
Maximum height is 12 feet (3,658 mm), with panel widths from 24 to 48 inches (610 to 1,219 mm) in the Motorized configuration and 28 to 48 inches (711 to 1,219 mm) in the Automatic. The run can be closed with a glass pivot door or a solid expandable panel. Frame finishes include clear anodized, satin stainless anodized, and powder coat in white, black or standard RAL colors. Options include glass pass doors, horizontal mullions, door hardware and, in the Motorized configuration, MorphGlas™ switchable glazing and motorized privacy shades for spaces that need on-demand privacy without losing the glass wall.
