VANK is a Polish company specialising in the design and production of furniture, combining durable construction with contemporary manufacturing technologies.
The Warsaw headquarters of the international design group Arup incorporated VANK wall panels and furniture as part of a new interior concept developed by Workplace. The design focused on reuse of existing elements, material selection and flexible use of the office space. The interior design also incorporated insights from experts in neuroscience in architecture, design and lighting.

The construction of the new office space considered existing elements from the previous tenants, allowing components such as the ventilation system, toilets and suspended ceilings to be retained and reused.
Over 90% of the furniture incorporated is second-hand. The materials used for new furniture and refurbishment include recycled and bio-based materials, including mycelium, hempcrete, flax, hemp, paper and seaweed.

VANK furniture used in the project is designed to adapt to changing needs within the office space. Two product families were used in the new headquarters. The VANK_CUBE coffee table, based on the CUBE module and featuring a customisable top, can also serve as a footrest. The VANK_CUBE desk can be enlarged or reduced and configured as a front desk or standing desk, and was used throughout the common areas for individual work and meetings.
The VANK_ELLIPSE acoustic panels are modular wall elements made from recycled and bio-based materials, designed to attenuate sound. Two models can be combined to create customised patterns: ELLIPSE_GLOBE and ELLIPSE_LENS. Both shapes can be exchanged and combined within the system.

The VANK_CUBE is a furniture family in which each piece consists of one or more cubes measuring 36 cm, which can be connected and reconfigured. The cubes are made of flax and hemp and can be rearranged to adapt to changing space or use requirements.

The VANK_CUBE shelving unit was stacked with CUBE units to create shelving within the office. The collection of office cabinets was also used in the project, with designers creating different forms and arrangements from the modular elements.
