REDBAAL, meeting the expectations of Latin American architects and following five successful editions, is now accepting entries for the Sixth Edition of the Oscar Niemeyer Award for Latin American Architecture—the ON Grand Prize—which will be presented on October 2 of this year at the Buenos Aires International Architecture Biennial.
The best of architectural production, already recognized at prestigious Latin American Biennials, will take center stage in this international competition, which serves as the "Biennial of Biennials" for Latin American architecture.

The Interceramic Architecture and Interior Design Award was launched by Interceramic 13 years ago to recognize, promote, and disseminate the values and contributions that architecture and design professionals bring to their work. The award recognizes projects that best reflect originality, composition, structure, harmony, conceptualization, and all attributes contributing to the successful execution of any architectural or interior design project.

Invitation to participate in the III International Seminar on Territory, Urbanism, and Architecture Research (SIITUA III), an international event promoted by Revista U.Llaqta. The seminar is aimed at students, faculty, and researchers in architecture, urbanism, and related disciplines who wish to present their research in an academic forum with a global reach.

The Oscar Niemeyer Award for Latin American Architecture, or ON Award, was established as an initiative of the Latin American Architecture Biennials Network (REDBAAL), founded in Quito through a constitutive act signed on November 23, 2012, during the XVIII Pan-American Architecture Biennial of Quito (BAQ 2012).

The Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism is a benchmark event for understanding the current state and future prospects of architecture and urbanism in the Ibero-American community. On December 17, the call for entries for the 2019 edition, curated by Arturo Franco and Ana Román, was opened. It will select the best works of architecture and urbanism, publications, research texts, and academic projects from the involved regions.

The call for entries for the XI BIAU will remain open until April 2019, and the results will be presented in Asunción (Paraguay) in October of that same year. The program of activities will include an exhibition of the selected works, a series of keynote lectures, specialized presentations, and panel discussions centered around the theme of the XI BIAU—aĩ paragua y (habit - water)—as well as exhibitions and other parallel activities, including the recognition of the career achievements of several masters.

The Instituto Tomie Ohtake and AkzoNobel continue to map contemporary architectural production by highlighting, for the fifth consecutive year, significant projects built within the current Brazilian landscape. Urban relationships, commitment to the site and sustainability, as well as design and construction inventiveness, are the fundamental criteria guiding the 5th Instituto Tomie Ohtake AkzoNobel Architecture Prize.

For this fifth edition, free registration must be completed online from February 22 to April 13, 2018, via the Instituto Tomie Ohtake website, which contains full details on the award, including the official rules and the registration platform. The competition is open to Brazilian or foreign architects of any age who have lived in Brazil for at least two years and can submit projects built within the last ten years.

The call for papers for the 6th Docomomo São Paulo Seminar is open until June 27. The event will take place from September 24 to 26 at the campus of the Institute of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo (USP) in São Carlos.

Dwelling, living, and [re]existing in cities will be the theme of the upcoming Academic Week of Architecture and Urbanism at the Instituto de Educação Superior da Paraíba. Bloco is an annual publication from the Architecture and Urbanism program at Feevale University. It is distributed free of charge and is also available in a digital edition.

The Viès Arquitetônico portal will launch the first print version of Viès Arquitetônico magazine in the second half of this year. To contribute to this edition, an article with an urban theme will be selected through a national online competition. The competition is open to higher education students and graduates from any field of study.

Weird Space is a series of workshops scheduled for October 2018, designed to explore the city through the production of urban dinners in unconventional spaces across the Community of Madrid. Each workshop is conceived as a collective, pedagogical investigation into a unique space and its context, culminating in its formalization as a dinner-installation.

The Módulo Arquitectura journal at the Universidad de la Costa (Barranquilla, Colombia) is pleased to announce that the call for scientific papers is now open.
