BLOCO Arquitetos releases documentary featuring award-winning projects in Brazil and abroad

BLOCO Arquitetos, led by Daniel Mangabeira, Henrique Coutinho, and Matheus Seco, will present the premiere of the documentary "BLOCO Arquitetos em Construção" on April 29 at 7:00 PM at Cine Brasília. The film explores the influence of the city and the natural landscape on the firm's work. The architects note that the principles of modern architecture established at the founding of Brasília continue to inspire a contemporary, distinctly Brazilian architecture that addresses today's challenges.

Urban Traverse: "Bellas Artes and Miraflores: A Tragedy of Styles"

Fabián Barros, an architect, academic, and Ph.D. in Advanced Architectural Projects, will lead the upcoming Atravieso Urbano—a walking tour organized by the Universidad Finis Terrae School of Architecture in partnership with the Nuestro Centro association—which explores the cultural, urban, and historical significance of the neighborhood.

ZIV Women's Expo takes place at IED and Beco do Batman

Through March 31, ZIV Gallery is hosting Expo ZIV Mulheres, with activities taking place at Beco do Batman and the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) São Paulo, located in Higienópolis. The art exhibition brings together works by Brazilian artists and Afghan photographers. Throughout March, ZIV is also hosting a series of discussion circles covering topics such as violence against women, gender and identity, and the challenges faced by women.

Urban Traverse: "Bellavista Neighborhood: Art, Bohemia, and the City"

Since 2016, the Universidad Finis Terrae School of Architecture has hosted Atraviesos Urbanos (Urban Traversals), a series of thematic tours through various sectors of the capital where an architect from the institution discusses the cultural, urban, and historical value of a neighborhood. For this new edition, the school has joined forces with Nuestro Centro, a neighborhood association dedicated to the revitalization of five neighborhoods: Bellas Artes, Bustamante, Lastarria, Plaza Italia, and Bellavista.

Robotic Timber Construction Workshop

The workshop is designed for architects, engineers, designers, students, and/or academics who wish to learn about and explore the design, programming, and robotic execution of timber joinery. It will consist of two intensive days of hands-on work, covering everything from computational design to robotic timber fabrication. The workshop will be led by architect Francisco Quitral, with an introduction by architect Mauricio Vargas, MSc, both doctoral candidates at the University of Bío-Bío.
