BLOCO Arquitetos, led by Daniel Mangabeira, Henrique Coutinho, and Matheus Seco, will present the premiere of the documentary "BLOCO Arquitetos em Construção" on April 29 at 7:00 PM at Cine Brasília. The film explores the influence of the city and the natural landscape on the firm's work. The architects note that the principles of modern architecture established at the founding of Brasília continue to inspire a contemporary, distinctly Brazilian architecture that addresses today's challenges.
The film showcases seven original projects that have gained recognition in specialized media and received national and international awards. It captures a period between 2017 and 2021, celebrating the firm's 20 years of practice in the Federal Capital. "The documentary brings us closer to people; it shows who we really are and our essence as professionals, which is to serve those who request our work through responsible and careful practice, connected to the principles we believe in," said Henrique Coutinho.
Filmed and produced by filmmaker Jean Bergerot, the documentary covers the specificities of Casa Palicourea, the Julião Coelho Advogados headquarters, Casa Cavalcante, Casa Vila Rica, Casa das Praças, and Casa Morrone, in addition to the BLOCO Arquitetos office, located in the Edifício Morro Vermelho—a building by the renowned architect Lelé, constructed in the Setor Comercial Sul, in the central zone of Brasília. These projects feature distinct characteristics and, according to the architects, created opportunities for very different approaches due to the unique conditions of each site.
