Call for entries for the MIRO digital museum: Museum of Impunity, Resistance to Oblivion

MIRO (Museum of Impunity: Resistance to Oblivion) is a digital museum exhibition project by the Estudio 3.14 Fellowship Program that seeks to showcase a diverse range of visual works with protest-oriented and subversive content. These works address various social issues stemming from the prevalence of impunity in Mexico and globally, through the power of imagery. Artists and designers are invited to submit existing works to be exhibited across the museum’s six constituent levels, each addressing the following issues: corrupt politicians, media, complicity, disappearances, and femicides.

CONSTRULITA Lighting Awards

The CONSTRULITA Lighting Awards return in 2021 to recognize those who, even during the pandemic, continue to enhance spaces through light. Lighting design is an essential field for reaffirming the importance of light in our lives, spanning art, education, science, technology, and design. Accordingly, this competition invites anyone dedicated to lighting design or related fields to register their projects and showcase their talent to the world.
This initiative by Grupo Construlita aims to serve as a platform for new generations seeking recognition, providing a space where their talent and experience can continue to grow and become part of the lighting community in Mexico and Latin America.
Starting Monday, September 6, the online registration platform will be open to professionals and students in fields related to architecture, interior design, industrial design, product design, lighting design, and engineering who currently reside in Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, or the Dominican Republic.
Projects may be registered in five professional categories: Architectural Lighting, Interior Lighting, Light-Art, Product Design, and Connect +IoT—a new category focused on the integration of new connectivity technologies with lighting.

Third NY401 Ideas Competition

Professionals, professors, and students are invited to participate in the Third National Ideas Competition, organized by the Municipal Housing Institute of León (IMUVI León) in collaboration with the León Architects Association (Colegio de Arquitectos de León A.C.).
The objective is to develop a conceptual proposal for a social housing condominium in the Las Américas neighborhood in León, Guanajuato.

4th National Meeting on Community Architecture

This meeting, continuing the previous Latin American and National gatherings, aims to bring together architecture professionals, academic departments, educators, researchers, and students to continue debating and deepening the understanding of professional practice in habitat transformation processes.

Call for Entries: "Alpine Hostel 2019" International Competition

Concursos AG 360 announces the "Alpine Hostel 2019" ideas competition, which will take place from January to April 2019. The project calls for the creation of an alpine shelter and a viewpoint on the slopes of the Nevado de Toluca, Mexico, intended to promote ecotourism development in the area. The entire site development must be based on sustainable and environmentally friendly principles.

5th edition of the IDB CitiesLab 2019 international university competition: San Telmo, Buenos Aires

BID CitiesLab 2019 is a university competition aimed at finding creative solutions and innovative ideas for urban problems in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), involving students, university professors, and young professionals from the region and Spain. It aims to serve as a seedbed and incubator for young talent in urban issues through a network of universities, offer direct experience to enhance real plans and projects, and promote a participatory space that challenges the discipline's paradigms.
