An exhibition based on the studies of Los Angeles Chinatown will be on display at 949 Chung King Road from 01/14/2023 till 01/22/2023. The exhibition showcases different series of work done by Chieh-Ting Chuang.
Chinatown is a recognizable architectural style that has been copied in every major city. This strong adaptive trait of Chinatown can not only be transformed into exterior spaces but also can be carried to interior domesticities. While the creation of the original Chinatowns is all based on the autonomy of the builder and owners of the era, this project explores the autonomy using modern technology and media.

Building Black Success Through Design (BBSD) is a FREE 12-week mentorship program offered through the Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design at the University of Toronto. This program is for Black high school students (Grades 9 to 12) who are interested in Architecture and Design. The goal of the program is to inspire Black students to pursue excellence and innovation within design industries and academia, enhancing diversity within the field and therefore building Black success through design.

The WAPW Academic Association together with the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology invite you to the next lecture in the "About Architecture" series. Our guests will be architects Wojciech Mazan and Bartosz Kowal from the PROLOG studio.
The studio was founded in 2017 in Wrocław. PROLOG engages with architecture through design projects, research, writing, exhibitions and workshops. PROLOG aims to frame each project from a design and theoretical perspective. PROLOG is thought as a formative period, therefore its focus lies in the exploration, speculations and experiments. PROLOG is scattered around Europe with a base in Wroclaw, Poland.

JAPAN BUILD Tokyo, Asia’s leading trade show for the building and housing industries, will be held at Tokyo Big Sight from December 5–7, 2022. With a staggering total of 430 exhibitors, 60 other seminars with top industry speakers, and thousands of visitors in its past edition, JAPAN BUILD Tokyo is unquestionably Japan’s leading trade show.

Data are constantly flowing around us. By capturing signals, we can weave data into sceneries. In the digital era, massive data are continuously analyzed and sorted out. Then, they are computed and used to create an order from certain perspectives to become readable information, just like what the protagonist in Matrix sees—everything comprises data flows. Even though we can never be the savior, artists can now use algorithms to tease out data and propose their own viewpoints, converting information into fuels that drive their works and visualizing data into sceneries of light and sound.

Whether glass and sky, asphalt and sand, steel and trees: the merging of architecture and landscape has always been an inevitable factor in building. In particular the buildings made of glass, steel and concrete have had an immaterial connection to their natural surroundings since the 19th century. The superimposition of structures, reflections, filters and transparencies becomes an important design element and fascinates with its ambiguous representation of reality.

The ”European Bamboo Expo” is the first bamboo trade exposition in Europe and aims to be Europe’s leading fair, open to the general public, and a meeting platform for professionals, stakeholders, and decision-makers from the bamboo sector in Europe and around the world. This trade exposition is designed to initiate new projects, showcase products, close deals, and establish contacts with customers, business partners, and governmental entities. Very important issues like integrating bamboo into carbon markets, investment opportunities, EU regulations standards for imports -exports, structural building requirements, and the importance of bamboo to mitigate climate change and protect the environment will be addressed by leaders of these sectors.

As part of the Fall 2022 Lecture Series and coinciding with Miami Art Week, the Department of Architect in collaboration with STEFANO BOERI ARCHITETTI (SBA), present the Lecture “Green Obsession. Wellness and Well-Being in Coworking Spaces is an online event brought to you by the makers of the book “Around The World in 250 Coworking Spaces” a global guide on coworking concepts, business models and founding stories. This event is an exploration, one that will take you from Berlin to London, Vancouver, and Amsterdam to meet founders and teams of coworking spaces who’ve used wellness and well-being as a means of differentiation.

This November 24th, the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) will organise its first online Open Day of the current Academic Year. The Circular by Design Innovation Festival takes place as part of Design Week Ireland 2022. It is co-hosted by NCAD, the Creative Futures Academy and the Design & Crafts Council Ireland, and made possible with the support of the CIRCULÉIRE Innovation Fund and DCCl through Enterprise Ireland.

Addressing these pressing challenges, and looking towards future sustainability, Al Galala university announces the first “Advances in Energy Research, Materials Science & Built Environment” conference, through which, discourse across multiple disciplines such as architectural development, green urbanism, modern construction management practices, and material efficacy in climate change mitigation, will investigate research on sustainability and development. Implementing these techniques will lead to achieving efficient, renewable, affordable, and inclusive green growth to accomplish the now urgent developmental needs of countries, and bring about a level of prosperity, and a better managed and robust environment.
