Call for Entries: International Ideas Competition: Living in the City, Housing in Contemporary Urban Uruguay

The Ministry of Housing, Land Use Planning and Environment, through the National Housing Directorate (DINAVI), and the Faculty of Architecture, Design, and Urbanism (FADU), through the Committee on Habitability, are joining forces to launch an open ideas competition for students, faculty, and professionals. International Ideas Competition Expo 2023: "Thematic Pavilions, a space for creativity and knowledge"

Thematic Pavilions” is the fifth of six international ideas competitions for the construction of the Expo 2023 buildings. The event was awarded to Argentina following a vote at the General Assembly of the BIE (Bureau International des Expositions).

From June 18 through Monday, August 5, architecture professionals are invited to submit design proposals for the two Thematic Pavilions. Following the exhibition, these structures will be repurposed as spaces for participatory, interactive, and immersive activities focused on creativity and knowledge.

Marta Scheu Torres Award 2019 opens call in Chile for outstanding women in architecture and urbanism

The Institute of Architecture and Urbanism at the Austral University of Chile (UACh) invites all architects in Chile to apply for the Marta Scheu Torres Award. ArchDaily is the official media partner for this competition, which aims to recognize outstanding women professionals in architecture and urbanism.

Established in 2016, the award was first presented in 2017 to Macarena Almonacid for her fruitful work in the restoration of the churches of Chiloé. In 2017, it was awarded to Emelyn de Los Ríos, National Coordinator of the Public Spaces Program at the Ministry of Housing and Urbanism.

CSCAE launches joint call for awards and recognitions for Spanish architecture

Six international ideas competitions for Expo 2023 Buenos Aires

Argentina was selected by vote at the General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions to host Expo 2023. For the first time on Latin American soil, the event focuses on creative industries as a synthesis of science, art, and technology to drive economic growth, increase employment, foster intelligence, improve quality of life, and generate sustainable development.

With a three-month duration, the event expects an estimated nine million visitors. In this context, the design of the habitat is not merely a requirement but a central component of the event's theme. Consequently, six international ideas competitions will be launched to solicit proposals for the construction of the Expo 2023 site, which will subsequently serve as a legacy: a major metropolitan park for science and knowledge, and a campus for creative industries.
